Cultural Orientation For International Staff In Rwanda

International employees are more productive if they know how to conduct their day to day life in their new country and if they are forming meaningful connections and communities in the host culture. All of that depends on their language and cultural training. At Impact Route, we have designed an adaptable cultural orientation program that set internationals staffer up for success in Rwandan social and business culture. 

Rwanda Cultural Awareness 

• Introduce participants to the general Rwandan mannerisms and behaviors and enable them to engage with day to day Rwanda life and culture with less cultural confusion and clashes. 
  
• Give international employees practical knowledge and skills to effectively function in a Rwandan business and corporate environment with less culture shock. 

Genocide Memorial Visit

• Have comprehensive understanding of Rwanda history and the 1994 Genocide Against the Tutsi.
  
• ​Understand the genocide history from a survivor and genocide perpetrator perspective and the journey of reconciliation.

30 Hour Kinyarwanda Lessons

• Appropriately greet in Kinyarwanda using formal and casual greetings 
• ​Fluently tell people who you are: Your name, nationality, where you live and what you do etc.. 
• Confidently buy and negotiate prices in Kinyarwanda  
• Appropriate use Kinyarwanda numbers in transactional conversation 
• Properly direct moto drivers or taxis where you are going using appropriate directional expressions 
• Effectively use landmarks and public place (isoko, gare, akabari, restaurant etc..) in directions
